LOCATION: Georgetown, South Carolina

EMPLOYER: Georgetown Hospital System

POSITION: Associate Administrator of Pharmacy Operations

WHY YOU’LL LOVE ITMere miles and whole worlds from amusement parks, high-rises, theatres and sprawling shopping malls, the historic city of Georgetown rises in antebellum grace. Established in 1732, Georgetown is South Carolina’s third oldest city. The riverfront is alive with activity and history. Dining, shopping and scenery reign supreme.

As one of the oldest family resort areas in the nation, Georgetown is one of America’s top getaways. Georgetown’s international class outdoor activities, historical tours, inns and resort accommodations, and quality of life have earned a rating among the top 100 small towns in America. Georgetown is conveniently positioned between Charleston and Myrtle Beach on the coast of South Carolina.

First settled in 1526 by the Spaniards, Georgetown was the first settlement in North America. The settlement failed because of a hurricane and Indian attacks and was later established in 1726 in honor of King George II. This town was once an important international port, serving the area’s once-thriving rice plantations. Today, several marinas cater to traffic on the Intracoastal Waterway, the old docks along the waterfront have been converted into Harborwalk, and sixteen blocks of the downtown area are listed on the National Historic Register.

Stroll the Harborwalk and discover a wide collection of art-filled galleries, charming shops and fantastic restaurants. The Harborwalk is a charming waterfront boardwalk between two of Georgetown’s most historically significant buildings, the Kaminski House and the Rice Museum. Overlooking the Sampit River Harbor, the boardwalk is lined with restaurants, galleries, antique shops and specialty stores. You can visit the Rice Museum and take in a history tour or head to the waterfront for a ride on the harbor.

Expand your mind, experience living history, delight your senses, challenge your body, and soothe your soul. Georgetown offers you a multi-faceted mosaic of arts activities, windows into the past in our historical enclaves, and the extraordinary beauty of Georgetown’s natural environment. Stroll miles of pristine beaches and feel the soft breezes as you spot your shot along immaculate fairways. Enjoy the spray of the river as your boat slices through the water. Dine and shop ‘til you drop as you explore Georgetown’s restaurants, cafes and shops. Allow yourself to play with time and tide in this jewel of the South.
