ABOUT THE JOB: Hoag has an exciting opportunity for an inpatient Sr. Pharmacy Manager to provide leadership and operational guidance to a high performing, well experienced team of 30+ (Techs/Pharmacists/Runners). Our progressive pharmacy environment utilizes Allscripts Sunrise Pharmacy system which is fully integrated with our Sunrise Clinical Manager clinical information solution.   We also recently implemented KBMA and Swisslog Pillpick and Boxpicker automated packaging and dispensing system.

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively under the direction and strategic guidance of the Director of Pharmacy to maximize the efficiency and optimization of the Pharmacy department.

The successful candidate will create a collaborative team oriented environment and provide subject matter expertise in a progressive Pharmacy Operations. The Sr. Manager will be well versed in the Pharmacy Practice Model Initiative (PPMI) and offer guidance on improvements to increase accountability for medication-related patient outcomes. Critical to the success of this position, will be the ability to build meaningful, trust-based relationships with the operations staff and amongst their peer group.

In addition to the above, the Sr. Manager will supervise the daily inpatient pharmacy operations. Coordinate the daily staffing, workflow of all the pharmacy areas. Provide leadership in promoting team efforts among the staff. Assists in the recruitment, evaluation and discipline of pharmacy employees.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduate of Accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES: Current Pharmacist license in the State of California
  • Must have at least 5 years of supervisory experience in an acute care hospital inpatient pharmacy setting.
  • Strong working knowledge with DNV, CMS standards and Title 22 is required
  • Experience in a role requiring skills related to balancing clinical, regulatory and financial goals and outcomes and collaborating with all levels within an organization.
  • Excellent communication, planning, prioritization and execution skills with a strong service orientation.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
  • Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
